After working on our exterior for a couple of weeks with painting our brick and building DIY window shutters, we decided to take down some ugly, wobbly post lighting so I of course then found myself down a rabbit hole of the best budget-friendly exterior lighting and figured I’d share my finds.
Our old posts were definitely not up to code (in fact our electrician once stopped at our front door to look over them and gave one of those contractor whistles like ‘who the hell did this’) because there was a wire running from by the front door across the porch and then under the front steps to light both of the lights.
Unsurprisingly, they were pretty easy to take down and I just mounted a new light fixture up by the front door where there always should’ve been one. That one light is a little dim now, so the plan will also be to add some landscaping uplighting in the front garden as well (see how easy it is to go down that rabbit hole?)
Anyway, here are the porch and exterior lighting deals I found, with most being around or under $50! Find the full list here, or they’re individually linked below, too.
