Hi, we're Emma & Alex!

We started DIYing when we bought our first house in 2019 and now we've renovated three houses because we had the audacity to start then had to figure out how to get it done.

We're here to share what we've learned and hopefully inspire you to start, too!

I’ve done probably a dozen tiling projects acros I’ve done probably a dozen tiling projects across four houses now and I can confidently say it’s my favourite DIY project. It doesn’t have to be intimidating either! So here’s a one minute explainer to break down the basics — if I were starting over I’d first try a backsplash or fireplace surround then move up to floors and wet spaces but either way you should try it šŸ’Ŗ
Okay so I’ve done probably a dozen tiling projec Okay so I’ve done probably a dozen tiling projects across four houses now and it’s genuinely my favourite DIY project.

Butttt I know It’s pretty intimidating to start so here’s a less-than-one-minute explainer on the basics of tiling. If you want to tile something for the first time, my vote is to start with a backsplash in your kitchen or laundry or a fireplace surround then level up to wet areas and floors but I promise it’s not has hard as it seems!

I have a lot of favourite things about op shopping I have a lot of favourite things about op shopping, but right up at the top is when you see something and it sparks an immediate idea, which is exactly what happened with this dress at @salvosstores.

It was cute on its own, but with all the colours and the flowy fabric I knew it would make such a fun (and honestly pretty easy) bunting banner for my Mother’s Day brunch.

It’s so nice to know that thrifted finds can keep evolving and get a new life, and that I can also get a much more whimsical and unique brunch table. A win win!
