Boob Light Replacements Under $100: Upgrade Your Fixtures
Ohhhh, boob lights. You know the kind – small, round, frosted glass, very nippley-looking, prominent in lots of old houses. We’ve had a lot of these types of lights in the houses we’d rented for years, but this one in our current hallway just always bothered me. So we decided it was time to look up some of the best boob light replacements under $100.
No offense to boobs, they’re great, but they don’t belong in a light. Once we got comfortable changing a light fixture ourselves (which we learned from this YouTube video, very millennial of us) there was no end in how many boob lights we could switch out and I was ready to update this little hallway with something a little more modern.
This is one of those easy, cheap projects that I kept putting off and off as other things got bumped ahead in the priority list, so it only just got changed this last week as we were getting ready to list our house for sale (if you missed that announcement, check it out here).
Here are a few other boob light replacements under $100 we had on the shortlist.

Best Boob Light Replacements
Emliviar Semi-Flush Mount Ceiling Light
A classic black cage style light. It’s sleek and modern, a little farmhouse as well, but also the price of $60 is real nice.
Globe Electric Semi-Flush Mount Ceiling Light
Generally I’m not a fan of oil-rubbed bronze. Either be black or be bronze, don’t try to trick us into this hipstery old I-just-came-from-the-mechanic-and-into-your-hallway look, but I like it in this light. The seeded glass shades soften the light a little bit (we used to have the same kind in our bathroom) and the different length of the three lights themselves makes it a little more interesting.
ALICE HOUSE White Wood Bead Chandelier
Now we’re getting good. I’m not sure if Alex ever would’ve allowed this boho beauty in our house and I’m sure he would have some kind of sassy and inappropriate description of what those beads look like, but they would look amazing in all their boho goodness down our hallway. Also perfect for a closet or nursery.
LITFAD Bamboo Cage Ceiling Light
I spent soooo long trying to find a good woven shade light. It’s so difficult to find the shape you like and keep in budget because some of them are expensive. This one definitely falls under the little bit boho, little bit Chinese restaurant but in a good way vibe.
Globe Electric Semi-Flush Mount Ceiling Light
I mean, tell me this one didn’t come from the upscale bathroom of your town’s latest brewery. You know what I mean, like all the toilet roll holders are made of copper pipe and there’s definitely a huge portrait of a cow on the wall.
Kira Home Zurich Rustic Farmhouse Ceiling Light
For some reason brass is just that little bit more fancy to me than gold accents. I love the shape of this one and how it’s kind of still a traditional dome shape but a little different and more modern.
Industrial Black Pendant Lamp Farmhouse Fixture
Last but not least. This one we’ve got in our dining room because we wanted a small, black light to match the hardware and accents in our kitchen, but we didn’t want the fixture to overwhelm or distract from our big, beautiful kitchen pendant lights. It works perfectly in there, and would also be good for a closet/entryway/hallway or wherever you’re plagued with boob lights.
